Voltti

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

Voltti is an app for Mac and Windows that tracks how you spend your time on your own computer, automatically, in the background. This page explains exactly what that means for your data: what stays on your computer, what we send to our servers, and what we never touch.

What Voltti tracks on your computer

While Voltti is running, it records which app is in the foreground and its window title, and, for browsers, the address of the active tab. It uses that to measure how much time you spend in each app and on each website, and to decide on its own whether a website counts as work (social media and streaming, for example, don't). This activity data is stored in a local database on your computer and is never uploaded, except for the optional weekly report described below.

To show a website's icon next to its time, Voltti downloads that icon directly from the website itself, once, and keeps it on your computer. That site sees the request the same way it would if you visited it. We don't use a third-party icon service, so no list of the sites you visit reaches us or anyone else.

If you add a role in Settings, it stays on your computer and only appears on the Daily Report images you choose to download. A profile photo also appears on those images, and if you're on the leaderboard it's shared there too (see below).

What we collect if you create an account

Creating a Voltti account (by email and password, or by signing in with Google) sends the following to our backend, run on Supabase:

If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address and basic profile name with us to create the account. We never receive your Google password, and we don't request access to your Gmail, Drive, or any other Google data beyond identifying who you are.

The leaderboard and friends (fully optional)

The leaderboard is off by default. If you turn it on, our leaderboard server receives:

On voltti.app: this week's top 10 on the leaderboard appear on our homepage with their display name, profile photo and hours. Joining the leaderboard includes this; leave the leaderboard and you're removed from it.

The social features send what you create with them:

The leaderboard never receives window titles, the websites you visited or the addresses of browser tabs. App names leave your computer only as part of the top-5 list above.

The weekly report (Pro, optional)

If you're on Pro, Voltti builds your weekly report PDF on your computer every Sunday morning and sends it to our server only so it can be emailed to you. The PDF contains your week's summary, including the names of the apps and websites you used and the time spent on each. It is passed straight to our email provider as an attachment and is not stored on our servers. You can turn it off any time in Settings.

AI standups (Pro, optional)

If you ask Voltti to write your standup, it shows you exactly what will be sent first: yesterday's app names with the time spent in each, your total and deep work time, your longest focus run and your role, if you set one. Window titles and website addresses are never sent. Our server passes these numbers to Anthropic's Claude model to write the update and sends the text back to you; neither the numbers nor the text are stored. We keep only a count of how many standups you made each day, to limit it to 10.

Deep work certificates (Pro, optional)

When you make a deep work certificate, Voltti sends that month's totals (tracked and deep work time, weekdays at 4 hours or more, your daily average, best day, longest focus run and your top four apps with their hours) to our server, which keeps a copy so anyone with the certificate's link or QR code can check it at voltti.app/v/ followed by its code.

App updates and downloads

On Mac, Voltti checks voltti.app for new versions a few times a day. Like any web request, this shows our server your IP address and the app's version. On Windows, if you installed Voltti from the Microsoft Store, the Store handles updates. When you download Voltti from our website, we count the download along with your country and which button you used. We don't store your IP address with it.

Visiting voltti.app

To see how people find the website, voltti.app uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool we run ourselves. It counts page views, the site that referred you, and your browser, device type and country. It uses no cookies, doesn't track you across other websites, and doesn't store your IP address.

Payments

Voltti Pro subscriptions are processed by Paystack or Polar, depending on your region. Neither Voltti nor our servers ever see or store your card number, bank details, or other payment credentials, that information goes directly to whichever processor handles your checkout. We only receive a confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, and use that to turn your Pro access on or off.
